You’ve Been BOO’d Kit & Printable

Each year we like to get things started in our neighborhood by BOO’ing a few of our neighbors. When Collective Bias Inc. and it’s advertiser offered to sponsor the fun I jumped right in! #BOOItForward #CollectiveBias

Typically I’m the one in our neighborhood that jumps into Halloween in September. I get out all of my decorations Labor Day weekend and have to exercise great will power to wait to decorate my porch until the beginning of October. One of my favorite parts of the Halloween fun is BOO’ing my neighbors.

At Walmart I found the cutest Halloween cans of  Sunkist® and A&W that got my creative wheels turning. I thought they’d make really cute monsters to use in my BOO kit this year.

Here are the BOO kit supplies you’ll need:

  • Pom Poms in assorted colors
  • Googly Eyes in assorted sizes and colors
  • Pipe Cleaners in assorted colors
  • A&W 8 oz 6 pack
  • Sunkist® 8 oz 6 pack
  • Chocolate Mix Fun Size (pictured below)
  • Wrigley Monster Stash 315ct (pictured below)

Because I want you to be able to find exactly what I used, I have pictured below the bags of candy I used. As you can see, when you head to Walmart you’ll find the soda in the regular soda and beverage aisle. The candy was located at the front of the store in a large display between the sets of registers.

Making the Soda Can Monsters:

These were really fun to make, and really simple. I started by heating my glue gun and setting out my supplies.

I knew that I would be wrapping a pipe cleaner around the top rim, so I started by attaching the accent pieces to the one being wrapped around the top of the can.

As you can see in the photo below, I curled several pipe cleaners around a pencil and then wrapped the end of each around the pipe cleaner that would attach them to the soda can.

Once I wrapped the pipe cleaner around the rim of the soda can I just twisted it in the back. Then I added pom poms and wiggly eyes with hot glue to each one. For the feet I glued three TWIX® candy bars to the base. Cute right?!

I followed the same basic steps to create this one. I attached spiraled pipe cleaners to the base pipe cleaner and then wrapped it around the rim of the soda can. Then I added pom poms and wiggly eyes. On this one however, I added LIFESAVERS® to the arms and STARBURST® feet. Yum!

For the A&W soda can I followed the same basic steps. On this one I used orange pipe cleaners to attach to the base going down as the feet curling at the bottom. I used a dot of glue to adhere them to the can.

After wrapping the base pipe cleaner around the rim of the soda can I used hot glue to attach pom poms and wiggly eyes.

I think they turned out really cute, don’t you?! Almost too cute to eat/drink…almost. They took maybe 15 minutes to create.

I placed them in the center of a tray and filled the tray with lots of candy. Then I used the free printable You’ve Been Boo’d sign found here

It was super simple. After printing:

  1. Cut out the “We’ve been BOO’d” sign.
  2. Fold the “You’ve been BOO’d” greeting card (page 2) and tape openings together.
  3. Include the card and sign when gifting BOO bundles.
