Circus Baby Shower Ideas

We had a lot of fun planning this Circus baby shower for my niece! I’m going to share all of our Circus baby shower ideas so you can put together your own in no time! I have to give my sister and niece all of the credit, they pulled this off, I only helped a little with the decorations and games. The circus baby shower invitations and prints were done by my talented niece and my sister did all of the circus baby shower food (which was delicious!) and put up the decorations because I was out of town until just before the shower. But it all came together so perfectly and we had such a great time celebrating with family and friends!

Using the 100′ roll of red and white stripe table cover from Oriental Trading was our best party trick. It went really far and did A LOT to decorate and theme the space. Without it, the design just wouldn’t have been the same! We turned it into Circus tent curtains and a swag on the food table. It was accented it with teal and red tissue fans and teal tissue garland.  The 36″ balloons were purchased at a party store and a tassel was added to each one.

The same look was repeated on the drinks table.

My talented graphic designer niece created these cute prints that were used throughout the party. They were a very significant touch and added SO much to the theme of the party! Are you loving all of these baby shower ideas?! So cute, right?! If you want to contact her about these prints or any other design work (you should see the cute invitations!) just email her at alixkersavage@gmail.com.

In one part of her kitchen my sister served pulled pork sliders, salad and chips. It was delicious! Then there were the treats! Oh, the treats! My darling 10 year old niece made lemonade cupcakes that were divine! They looked so adorable in the red stripe baking cups! She needs to be on the next Food Network Kids Baking Championship! In addition to the cupcakes we served churros (from Costco), honey roasted peanuts, popcorn and cotton candy (of course!). The food display stands came from Oriental Trading as well and were easy to assemble. They were meant for other food items but it was really easy to adapt them to what we were serving.

Circus Baby Shower Games

Every baby shower needs some way for guests to interact. Baby Shower Bingo is my all time favorite baby shower game. Watching the guest of honor open gift after gift can eat a large portion of your time together and frankly, it gets pretty boring. So, this is a fun way to get guests involved and having fun during it! My niece made bingo cards but you can also use my free printable baby shower bingo cards

We also played the Poopy Diaper baby shower game. I detail it all here and even have FREE PRINTABLES for you to use! Hooray for free printables!

My cute little guy just turned 3 and he LOVES tractors! Not farming tractors (although, he does like those), the big CONSTRUCTION tractors! My husband uses them in his work and my son LOVES to go see “Daddy’s tractors”! In fact, he thinks any tractors we see as we are out and about are “Daddy’s tractors”. So, we planned a really fun Construction Birthday Party for him and a few of his friends and had loads of fun!

Let’s DIG right in to the fun details!

Trunk Or Treat Monster

This post may contain affiliate links. A small commission is paid to me if purchases are made through them. I was sent products from Oriental Trading to use in this post.

Each year we attend a Trunk or Treat in my in-laws neighborhood. It is amazing to see the trunk or treat decorating ideas people come up with! My favorite part about a Trunk or Treat is that it brings everyone outside and it feels like a PARTY! I wanted to create an easy trunk or treat idea to share and came up with my Trunk or Treat Monster! Isn’t it cute?! It took about an hour to assemble the decorations and about 30 minutes to put it all up. Not bad for a totally awesome trunk! My neighbors thought I was a little odd staging this in my yard in September, but that’s what bloggers do. And, now it is all ready to put up on Halloween!

**Now, a word on adhesive. Use painters tape or masking tape if you are adhering something to the paint of your car.

***My Trunk Or Treat round up has over a dozen Halloween trunk decorating ideas and I’ll add this over there to. Be sure to check it out!

Halloween Door Decoration Monster

This post contains affiliate links. i receive a small commission when purchases are made.

It’s no secret that Halloween is my favorite holiday! I love coming up with new Halloween decorations to display each year. Doing our Halloween door decoration just might be one of my favorite things of the whole season! The Skeleton door was fun, the Frankenstein door was cute, the spider web door was creepy crawly and the witch door was fun to theme my entire porch! This year our family theme for Halloween is MONSTERS! But, not the scary kind, the fun and silly kind! So, our halloween costumes will be monsters, our trunk or treat will be monsters and naturally, our front door will be a cute furry monster! Now, I need help naming him – got any suggestions?

Fidget Spinner Pinata DIY

Has your house caught the FIDGET SPINNER bug yet? They are everywhere and I have to admit, they are pretty fun to play with! My nephew knows how to make a fidget spinner and made some for himself and his siblings. I think building your own fidget toy is a great way to encourage mechanical minds! This fidget spinner pinata would be perfect at a tween birthday party! It is made of common products and only took about 1 hour to make (it may have gone faster if I weren’t stopping to take pictures) and about $5 in supplies (including the oatmeal in the can). If you’ve ever looked at buying a pinata for a party, they can be really pricey! Add to that the cost of the candy and it can break your budget!

Fidget Spinner Pinata - DIY your kids favorite fidget toy for a perfect Fidget Spinner party!

If you’re hosting a fidget spinner birthday party, giving a fidget spinner as a party favor is a no brainer! But I really think these glow party supplies work so great with the fidget spinner party theme!

Trolls Birthday Party Ideas

The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link.

We celebrated my daughters 6th birthday last week Lady Glitter style! It celebrated two things my daughter is currently obsessed with – TROLLS and roller skating! We had a Trolls birthday party for her and her friends at our local roller skating rink! It was so perfect since in the movie Lady Glitter Sparkle (aka Bridget) and Prince Gristle go roller skating on their date. I’m going to share all of my Trolls birthday party ideas here and link to everything I used so you will be all set! I was sent several products from Oriental Trading complimentary to use for the party and others I purchased from various stores.

Trolls Birthday Party Ideas

The Classic Fun Center in Orem, Utah was such a great spot for the party (and the girls had a great time)! In the past I have done all of the decorations, food and games – which is a lot of work, but something I LOVE! But, we were out of town for a month until two days before the party so it was actually really nice to know that the party would be really fun, but I would only have to do a little bit of the work.

Trolls Party Favors

This was my favorite part of the whole shebang – because I got to be crafty!

The contents of the favor bags are:
Pink Medium Gift Bags – Oriental Trading
Pink Tulle “Hair” on bags and headbands – Oriental Trading
Felt Flowers on bags and headbands – Oriental Trading
Trolls Pencils (24 pkg) – Amazon
Trolls Rings (24 pkg) – Amazon
Trolls Stickers (came in a 4 sheet package) – Walmart
Trolls Fruit Snacks – Walmart
Glow Sticks – Walmart
Plastic Headbands (4 pkg) – Dollar Tree
Blue & Green Glitter Foam (for my daughters bag and headband) – Hobby Lobby

**I used the glitter foam on my daughters bag and headband just to make it stand out a bit from the others since she was the birthday girl.

To make the favor bag I gathered a length of pink tulle that was 9″ x 48″ and used a hot glue gun to secure it to the inside edge of the bag. Then I took a small piece of tulle and tied the top to create the iconic Troll hair.

To make the headbands I followed this tutorial from my friend The How To Mom and used 18″ x 5″ pieces of tulle. I did 12 on each headband. Then I used a small amount of tulle to wrap around the top to create the Troll hair style.

Trolls Party Supplies

Since the decor had to be minimal, I wanted to make sure it was totally themed. I got Trolls paper supplies (paper plates, cups and napkins) as well as pink table covers from Oriental Trading. They were perfect and really adorable! We also had pink, yellow and teal balloons.

Trolls Birthday Party Cupcakes

I baked the cupcakes in regular cupcake liners and then used pink glitter cupcake wrappers that I got at Hobby Lobby around each one.

For the frosting I used vanilla frosting that I colored with Wilton food gel. I put each color in a sandwich size ziptop bag and then put all three bags into a gallon size bag with my piping tip already in place. That gave me the unicorn effect when I piped the frosting on top.

The cupcake picks were a FREE PRINTABLE party pack from DreamWorks that I linked to in my Trolls Birthday Party Invitation post a couple of weeks ago. (Don’t mind my circle cutting inabilities. I usually use a circle cutter but was out of town and only had a clunky pair of kitchen scissors to work with. Not awesome.)

Here is my beautiful birthday girl. I can’t believe she is 6! It has been the most amazing 6 years of my entire life! Or, to use the words of Poppy – it has been hair-iffic!

Superhero Girl Party Ideas

My niece Sue turned seven last week and I got to help my sister throw her a Superhero Girl party! It was one of my favorite parties to date! The crafts and games around the theme were so fun! She considered a different theme, but once I showed her the SUPER cute Superhero Girl decorations and crafts on the Oriental Trading website, she was sold!

So this post isn’t a mile long, I’ll detail the decor and food here and the crafts and games in another post. Superhero Girl Birthday Party: Decorations and Food

47 Teacher Appreciation Doors

The links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link.

Last month we celebrated Teacher Appreciation week at my daughters elementary school. There were so many creative teacher appreciation doors! I was at the school helping with the Teacher Appreciation lunch and breakfast that week so I walked around and snapped pictures of them. I shared several of them on instagram, but today I wanted to share them here as well. I also collected a few from friends of mine as well as a few from my daughters elementary school a few years ago.
