I think it’s safe to say that Inside Out was a favorite movie for people of all ages last year. It’s lighthearted and kid centered enough to keep my daughter enthralled, but had layers of deeper meaning that for the big kids/adults. It’s the perfect movie to turn into a birthday party if you ask me!
One of our favorite movies last year was HOME by Dreamworks. OH, Tip (Gratuity), Lucy, Kyle, Captain Smeck, Pig the cat – the whole lot are hilarious! I love that the movies are geared for kids, but have enough wit and humor that adults enjoy them too. As I mentioned in my Cinderella post, my daughters birthday isn’t for 6 months, but this is one of the ideas we’re brainstorming for her party and I thought I’d share the ideas I have in case you’re looking to host one yourself. So, again, while I don’t have finished party photos – hopefully they’ll give you a good jumping off point!
2015 was a great movie year in my opinion! We especially loved the new Cinderella movie. My daughters birthday isn’t for 6 months, but we’re already brainstorming on different themes. The new Cinderella movie is one that she really loves, and while it is similar to her Disney Princess party from last year, I have come up with a few ideas I wanted to share in case you are planning a Cinderella birthday party.
Entertaining for the holidays is one of my favorite things (along with rain drops on roses and red woolen mittens)! Being sponsored by Collective Bias, Inc. and it’s advertiser to create this holiday pie buffet sweetens the whole thing considerably! This post contains affiliate links. I receive a small commission on purchases made through these.
With the hurried pace of the holidays, using ready made pie and whipped topping is the way to share the joy without spending all day in the kitchen.
As soon as I found out I was expecting a boy, I knew that his 1st birthday party would be a Baseball birthday party. My husband played baseball growing up (and even into college) and going to MLB games is one of our favorite vacation activities. If you’re planning one, hopefully these baseball birthday party ideas will come in handy! Be sure to check out the Baseball cake tutorial I posted as well!
My baby boy just turned one and to celebrate we had a Baseball Themed birthday party for him. I decided to make his birthday cake, which as you may remember, has backfired on me in the past. But I went with a simple design and took pictures along the way so I could show you how I did it. If I can do it, you can do it! Just follow this easy baseball cake tutorial!
As we approach the cooler months, I want to share with you my Southwestern Chili recipe. It is my favorite thing to serve at a party because not only is it totally delicious – you can make it ahead the day of, or a whole week before and keep it in the freezer. It’s one of those things you can just keep warm in a crock-pot during a party and it’s good the whole time! It’s so simple to make, hearty, warm (thanks to the green chilis) and even kid approved (according to my 4 year old daughter and various nieces and nephews). I love to have a big pot of it bubbling on the stove while we go out trick-or-treating or to serve it at a bridal/baby shower in the fall. Continue reading →
I’ve had this idea for marshmallow beach balls in my head all summer and I’ve been meaning to post it, but I swear this week everyone is posting back to school updates on facebook and I feel like summer just ran away from me! But, I figure all of my fans in Australia (insert crickets chirping) who are just headed into the summer will love that I’m posting this now!
These would be so cute to do for a swimming pool party or slip n’ slide party. The absolute best thing about them is that the kool-aid flavors the chocolate! Sure, you could just purchase different color candy melts, but the flavor the kool-aid gives is awesome and makes them taste as good as they look!
