Captain America Themed Birthday Party
This super cute Captain America themed birthday party was styled and hosted by Amy Rasmussen – of Shirley K Designs. Her little guy, Carter is obsessed with Captain America, so picking a theme was easy. She asked him lots of questions and really let him be a part of the planning. He knew he wanted bubble gum and cupcakes (what almost 5 year old doesn’t?). From there, Amy turned to Oriental Trading. Since it was November, they had 4th of July candy marked down super low! She designed the printable cupcake toppers, favor labels and candy labels and they are available to purchase in her etsy shop if you’re throwing your own party.

She decided to splurge on the Jones’ soda since the colors matched so perfectly. And she bought Carter a Captain America t-shirt so he would look the part. 🙂 She hosted two parties – one for family and one for friends, so the decorations pulled double duty.
Things I LOVE: The balloons hanging over the food table (weighted down by a marble inside each one). The fun colors that don’t just have to be for a patriotic party. The fact that she was able to save so much by purchasing the candy in the off season! Way to go Amy!
Amy and her darling family of boys are hoping to adopt a little girl. If you want more information about their family search for a sister, go here.
