Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly coat a 9x13 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
In large bowl, whisk together melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.
Add sugar, beaten eggs, vanilla and salt. Stir until thoroughly combined.
Add the flour slowly and gently stir until no dry streaks remain. Avoid overtaxing the batter.
Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the brownies are set and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool completely before frosting.
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
Beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy.
All 1 cup of powdered sugar, vanilla and 2 tbsp of milk. Mix on low speed until combined.
Add the remaining powdered sugar and the cocoa powder. Beat until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
If the frosting is too thick to spread, add more milk one teaspoon at a time until it reaches the consistency you prefer.
Spread the frosting over the completely cooled brownies. Cut into squares and serve.
