Thanksgiving Don’t Say It! challenges players to describe a holiday word without using the answer or the taboo words listed on the card. From turkey and pumpkin pie to cornucopia and caramelize, three difficulty levels let you choose the right challenge for your group.

How to play

Divide into two teams and take turns giving clues. Your team has 60 seconds to guess as many words as possible without the clue giver saying the answer or any taboo words. A player from the opposing team watches the cards to check the clues.

Earn points for correct guesses, give both teams the same number of turns, and see who finishes with the highest score!

Make it work for mixed ages

Choose Easy cards for younger players and Tricky or Tough cards for more experienced players. Children who aren’t reading independently can join in as guessers.

The optional Feast or Famine cards add another layer of fun. Give younger players Feast cards for helpful bonuses and experienced players Famine cards for extra challenges. Or shuffle both sets together and draw randomly for a surprise each turn.

Players and playing time

Designed for 4 or more players divided into two teams. Allow approximately 15–25 minutes, depending on your group and the number of turns you choose. Five turns per team makes a manageable quick game.

What you’ll need

• A printer or access to a printing service
• US Letter paper or cardstock
• Scissors or a paper trimmer
• A phone timer or another 60-second timer
• Paper and a pen to keep score

Printing and preparation

Print at Actual Size or 100% to preserve the card dimensions. Cardstock makes sturdier cards. Cut along the grid lines on the fronts using scissors or a paper trimmer.

Matching backs are included if you want double-sided cards. Follow your printer’s instructions and test one sheet first to check alignment. You can also play with single-sided cards.
