Having a December birthday, I grew up dreaming of having a swimming party or something that didn’t involve snow or ice. As my daughters first birthday approached I decided to disregard the freezing temperatures and create for her first birthday a garden party. Using lace, greenery, florals, soft colors and both wood and glass serving dishes helped create the romantic garden scene. Let me take you through the details so you can recreate this for your own special little lady for her birthday!

The Construction birthday party we had for my son was a lot of fun to plan! We loved coming up with the construction games for kids to play and the construction crafts. I loved taking ordinary party games and giving them a construction party theme! It made party planning so easy! So, take these construction party ideas and your kids will thank you! Three year olds can vary so much on the ability spectrum and these games were easy to adapt to them.
I’ll detail the games, crafts, favors and invitations below.
Has your house caught the FIDGET SPINNER bug yet? They are everywhere and I have to admit, they are pretty fun to play with! My nephew knows how to make a fidget spinner and made some for himself and his siblings. I think building your own fidget toy is a great way to encourage mechanical minds! This fidget spinner pinata would be perfect at a tween birthday party! It is made of common products and only took about 1 hour to make (it may have gone faster if I weren’t stopping to take pictures) and about $5 in supplies (including the oatmeal in the can). If you’ve ever looked at buying a pinata for a party, they can be really pricey! Add to that the cost of the candy and it can break your budget!
If you’re hosting a fidget spinner birthday party, giving a fidget spinner as a party favor is a no brainer! But I really think these glow party supplies work so great with the fidget spinner party theme!

My son is so in love with the Peanuts Movie and LOVES Snoopy, so as his second birthday approached I knew I wanted to have a Peanuts birthday party. Hold on tight, I usually separate these posts since they are so photo heavy, but I’m combining all of the Peanuts birthday party ideas I used into one giant post today!
For my daughters 5th birthday she was so excited to have a My Little Pony Birthday party! I searched the internet for great My Little Pony party ideas and found so many that it made putting this party together super easy. Now, you know I love to get my DIY on when it comes to the decorations, but I’ve been really sick with my pregnancy so this party was all store-bought – and honestly, it turned out so great. My daughter kept saying, “ADORABLE!” as I was setting up the decorations the night before, so I knew I was on the right track!
I think it’s safe to say that Inside Out was a favorite movie for people of all ages last year. It’s lighthearted and kid centered enough to keep my daughter enthralled, but had layers of deeper meaning that for the big kids/adults. It’s the perfect movie to turn into a birthday party if you ask me!
One of our favorite movies last year was HOME by Dreamworks. OH, Tip (Gratuity), Lucy, Kyle, Captain Smeck, Pig the cat – the whole lot are hilarious! I love that the movies are geared for kids, but have enough wit and humor that adults enjoy them too. As I mentioned in my Cinderella post, my daughters birthday isn’t for 6 months, but this is one of the ideas we’re brainstorming for her party and I thought I’d share the ideas I have in case you’re looking to host one yourself. So, again, while I don’t have finished party photos – hopefully they’ll give you a good jumping off point!
