It is a great way to get kids laughing, thinking, and creating lasting memories. If your family loves party games, this Christmas version of classic headband games is the perfect addition to your celebrations.

What Is the Christmas Headbands Game?

If you have ever played the Headbanz game, then you already know the basic idea. Everyone wears an elastic headband with a picture and word card placed right on their forehead. Family members or friends can see your card, but you cannot. Your job is to ask one question on each turn to figure out which Christmas character, decoration, food or whatever you are wearing. The rules are simple so even younger children can play without confusion.

Kids get to build expressive vocabulary and language skills while having hilarious fun. It is a perfect choice for holiday parties, family game nights, and classroom celebrations!

How Do You Play the Christmas Headbands Game?

This game is simple to play and requires only a sheet of paper, the printable game cards, and an elastic headband. You can also use a plastic headband from Headbanz if you already own it.

Here is how to play.

  1. Print and cut the game cards. You will find plenty of Christmas themes inside the printable, including candy cane cards, Christmas tree pictures, and silly Christmas character cards.
  2. Give everyone an elastic headband. Slide one card into the headband so it faces outward.
  3. Pick a first person. They will start by asking a question.
  4. Ask yes or no questions. Try to narrow things down with more specific questions like: “Am I a person” or “Do I belong under a Christmas tree.”
  5. Guess your card. If you think you know the answer, take a guess, such as, “Am I a candy cane?”
  6. The next player takes a turn. Additional players and all players after take one turn to ask a question before it moves to the next turn.

It is a great opportunity to let kids practice reasoning skills while having plenty of fun.
