I get to help organize the Halloween class party for my daughters 1st grade class! Keeping with our monster theme for this year (see our costumes, trunk-or-treat and front door decoration) I am doing all Monster themed activities and Monster themed treats for her Halloween class party. These are age appropriate Halloween party ideas for kids that can be used for any grade level! In addition to fun Halloween party games, the Halloween treats for school are monster-ific! I know the kids are going to LOVE them! So, here’s my plan:
Halloween Party Ideas for Kids
Monster Mash
This is a fun spin on the traditional cupcake walk. Here are the steps to play. Purchase the mini monster cutouts from Amazon. Use a sharpie marker to draw a number on each monster. Place the monster pennants on the ground in a circle. Play Monster Mash as the kids march around the monster pennants. Stop the music and draw a number out of a bowl. The child standing in front of that number wins a prize! We are giving away mini monster tattoos.
Monster Can Toss
I think this monster can toss is TOO CUTE! Arrange the cans in a pyramid formation and have the kids take turns trying to knock all 6 cans over with the three included bean bags. Once they’ve mastered this, they’ll get a prize – a mini monster pop-up from Oriental Trading.
Monster Bingo
Every class party needs bingo and Lindsay from Artsy Fartsy Mama is my go-to source for FREE printable bingo cards! She also has traditional Halloween bingo cards, but these fit the Halloween party theme so perfectly! The bingo prizes for this game are Monster lollipops from Oriental Trading. How awesome would it be to use gummy eyeball candy for the markers?!
Monster Craft
I love including a craft, but don’t want to make a huge mess. These mini magnet monsters are easy to assemble and have adhesive backs that you just peel the covering off of. No glue, no glitter, no mess!
Monster Cookies
See, I told you these are stinkin’ cute! These monster Halloween cookies from Pillsbury are so cute! We are going to have a sugar cookie decorating station with this photo on display to give the kids a little bit of inspiration. We’ll include licorice rope, black cookie icing, mini marshmallows, candy eyes, candy corn and Halloween sprinkles! Yum!
