Mother’s Day Gifts: Gifts to your Children

My husband and I have struggled with infertility and feel so blessed to have our daughter Lucy after years of treatments and procedures. However, you don’t have to have gone through years of struggle to appreciate your children and to have a desire to show them how much they mean to you. We decided even before we had our daughter, that we wanted Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to be a family day and an opportunity to tell our children what a blessing they are to us and to thank them for giving us this gift of being a mother and father to them. In addition to giving a small gift, we also do an activity as a family to celebrate the day. Last year we walked through the beautiful gardens at Thanksgiving Point and had a picnic lunch the Saturday before Mother’s Day. This year we are planning to spend the Saturday afternoon before Mother’s Day at Wheeler Historic Farm with a picnic lunch.

We got Lucy a box of sidewalk chalk and some animal finger puppets. She is going to be SO excited!!
