Wedding Wednesday: Red Wedding Details

My niece Haylie got married in May of 2008 and used RED as the main color for her reception. It was beautiful, red isn’t just for December and February weddings! If you, or someone you know is getting married in the next six months and plans to use red in their color palette, now is the time to buy!!! Things like red tulle, silk rose petals, fabric, votive holders, champagne glasses, candy, favor boxes, paper goods and cardstock paper, not to mention the shoes/dresses/jewelry all available right now are the perfect way to add red accents to your wedding reception. Best of all they are available right now in greater abundance (especially the candy!) than other times of the year because of Valentine’s Day AND their prices will be much better than if you wait even one month to buy!

I personally love the idea of using red in your wedding, regardless of what time of year it is. It is the color of love and passion. From flowers and linens to food and stationary, it is abundant and appropriate whenever you happen to be planning to wed.

Do you need a little bit of red wedding inspiration?

I love this red details idea board created by the My Wedding Reception Ideas blog. This takes it from hearts and rose petals and inserts it right into Summer. I feel like the only thing missing is a big bowl of fresh cherries for guests to snack on.
