I’m excited to share with you my Halloween porch decorations this year. In years past, I’ve just focused on my front door (see my Skeleton, Frankenstein and Spider’s Web doors that are super easy DIY projects), but this year I wanted to decorate my entire front porch. I was inspired by the severed fingers I made last year to do a Witches theme and I think it turned out awesome!
I got a few new pieces to amp up my decor from the Halloween section of Oriental Trading and they were perfect! I still got to do a little bit of DIY crafting, but these pieces saved me a ton of time and look great!
For my daughters 5th birthday she was so excited to have a My Little Pony Birthday party! I searched the internet for great My Little Pony party ideas and found so many that it made putting this party together super easy. Now, you know I love to get my DIY on when it comes to the decorations, but I’ve been really sick with my pregnancy so this party was all store-bought – and honestly, it turned out so great. My daughter kept saying, “ADORABLE!” as I was setting up the decorations the night before, so I knew I was on the right track!
The first was Advice Cards. To help it fit with the Vintage Airplane theme, I ordered these Vintage Postcards on Amazon and asked guests to fill in advice to the new mom on them and slip them into the cute little suitcase. This was something that the guests could do while they mingled and it was helpful to the mom!
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of helping host a Vintage Airplane Baby Shower for my beautiful niece Alix. I am so excited for her and it was so much fun to put this shower together for her and her sweet baby boy!
Ah! The weather has started to warm up a bit and we have loved playing outside! I love walking around my yard to see my tulips peeking up through the dirt. I recently had a really fun day with my kids and 3 of my nieces and all of the things we did would make a really fun Nature Party! If your kids are fans of the new show on PBS – Nature Cat – this would make a really fun Nature Cat Birthday Party!
I think it’s safe to say that Inside Out was a favorite movie for people of all ages last year. It’s lighthearted and kid centered enough to keep my daughter enthralled, but had layers of deeper meaning that for the big kids/adults. It’s the perfect movie to turn into a birthday party if you ask me!
One of our favorite movies last year was HOME by Dreamworks. OH, Tip (Gratuity), Lucy, Kyle, Captain Smeck, Pig the cat – the whole lot are hilarious! I love that the movies are geared for kids, but have enough wit and humor that adults enjoy them too. As I mentioned in my Cinderella post, my daughters birthday isn’t for 6 months, but this is one of the ideas we’re brainstorming for her party and I thought I’d share the ideas I have in case you’re looking to host one yourself. So, again, while I don’t have finished party photos – hopefully they’ll give you a good jumping off point!
