Last week, I had the pleasure of helping put together a Love is Sweet bridal shower for my nephew’s future bride.

This cute idea came to me after getting my cotton candy machine! I decided the next shower I hosted would be themed “Love Is Sweet.” And since I was in charge, that’s exactly what we did! This fun shower was filled with cute ideas, sweet treats, and thoughtful touches that made it a memorable celebration for the bride-to-be, family and close friends.
If you’re planning a bridal shower and love a playful, sweet theme, this post is packed with inspiration! Check out these fun ideas from a Love Is Sweet banner to desserts, activities, and some additional decorating ideas you can use for your own Love is Sweet bridal shower!
Love Is Sweet Decorations

Signature Banner and Garlands
Over the fireplace, I hung tulle pom pom garlands for a playful, whimsical backdrop. The centerpiece of the display was a Love Is Sweet banner I created using glittered canvas and cardstock letters cut with my Circuit machine. It added sparkle and color that really set the tone for the shower.

Just in case you don’t have a Cricut or don’t want to make a banner yourself, I created one for you! Grab your free printable Love is Sweet banner here! Just cut out the individual pieces, hole punch holes in each of the top corners and string it on satin ribbon, fun twine or curling ribbon and hang it up!

For extra flair, clip bags of cotton candy or heart-shaped treats to the garlands with gold glittered clothespins. Guests can grab these as they arrive—it’s cute and functional!

Glitter Mason Jars and Table Décor
In the kitchen, I painted mason jars with metallic gold craft paint and rolled them in gold glitter, topping each with a tissue paper pom pom. I also framed sweet sayings like “Love is Sweet” and tied tulle knots to the frames for a cohesive, photo-worthy display.

Additional decorating ideas:
- Candy buffet: Include jars of pink and white candy, labeled with custom tags.
- Mini chalkboards: Write romantic quotes or instructions for games.
- Cupcake stands: Use tiered trays for cupcakes, cake pops, or small pastries to elevate the dessert table.
- Balloon accents: Add a few helium balloons in pastel or metallic shades to complement the tulle garlands.
Drink Station Fun

The cups and chevron-print paper straws were glitzed up with gold washi tape, instantly making them party-ready. You can also add small tags to label drinks like “Sweet Love Lemonade” or “Cotton Candy Punch” for an extra thematic touch.

Sweet Treats and Desserts
For a shower called Love Is Sweet, the desserts should match the theme! We served:

- Pink Velvet Cupcakes with cupcake toppers to match the banner
- These cake pops in coordinating colors
- Brownies with toppings, including whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and chopped pecans
- Vanilla ice cream with homemade chocolate fudge sauce
- Cranberry Almond Chicken Salad croissant sandwiches and fresh fruit for balance
- Fancy chocolate, such as Godiva chocolate for a luxurious treat
