Thanks to Oriental Trading for sending me the most adorable cowboy western themed party decorations to use for my sisters 40th SURPRISE birthday party! Despite it being the middle of winter, we went with a cowboy western theme because it fit my sister so well. She loves country dancing, pulled pork sandwiches and wearing cowboy boots (in fact she worked selling cowboy boots for a time when she was younger). Because I was due to have my baby a few days before the party, I prepared all of the party decorations ahead of time and handed them over to my niece to set up the day of the party. Getting the supplies from Oriental Trading instead of going the 100% DIY route really saved my sanity and helped the theme stay consistent throughout the entire party. I still got to do a few fun little DIY touches but the decorations came together really quickly. I put everything together at my house and took pictures so my niece would know exactly how to set things up and I think she did a fantastic job! I just showed up for the party and had a great time with everyone!
Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away and I can’t wait for all of the delicious food! I held a Thanksgiving craft and game night with my kids and a few nieces the other night and we all had a blast! Whether you are in charge of a classroom or preschool party activity or looking for fun things to keep the kids occupied while the feast is being prepared, these Thanksgiving crafts for kids and Thanksgiving games will be a hit!
Tomorrow I’m hosting a Halloween party/play group for my daughter and her friends and I wanted to quickly share the activities we are going to do. These would be perfect for a family Halloween party, a preschool Halloween party or even a younger Elementary school Halloween party. They are easy to put together, don’t cost much at all and will keep the kids so happy! I think they would be perfect to do as a family after school so your kids aren’t itching to go Trick-or-Treating at 4:00 pm. 🙂
So, here we go – some really EASY HALLOWEEN GAMES to add to your weekend festivities!
My son is so in love with the Peanuts Movie and LOVES Snoopy, so as his second birthday approached I knew I wanted to have a Peanuts birthday party. Hold on tight, I usually separate these posts since they are so photo heavy, but I’m combining all of the Peanuts birthday party ideas I used into one giant post today!
I’m excited to share with you my Halloween porch decorations this year. In years past, I’ve just focused on my front door (see my Skeleton, Frankenstein and Spider’s Web doors that are super easy DIY projects), but this year I wanted to decorate my entire front porch. I was inspired by the severed fingers I made last year to do a Witches theme and I think it turned out awesome!
I got a few new pieces to amp up my decor from the Halloween section of Oriental Trading and they were perfect! I still got to do a little bit of DIY crafting, but these pieces saved me a ton of time and look great!
This My Little Pony Party was so much fun to plan, mostly because my daughter was so dang excited for every detail of it. She and I would sit together and browse all the fun ideas on Pinterest and the party practically planned itself! With 12 little friends coming to the party, I knew that it needed to be simple enough that I could manage it all myself. In the end, the My Little Pony Party Games we did were a huge hit!
For my daughters 5th birthday she was so excited to have a My Little Pony Birthday party! I searched the internet for great My Little Pony party ideas and found so many that it made putting this party together super easy. Now, you know I love to get my DIY on when it comes to the decorations, but I’ve been really sick with my pregnancy so this party was all store-bought – and honestly, it turned out so great. My daughter kept saying, “ADORABLE!” as I was setting up the decorations the night before, so I knew I was on the right track!
The first was Advice Cards. To help it fit with the Vintage Airplane theme, I ordered these Vintage Postcards on Amazon and asked guests to fill in advice to the new mom on them and slip them into the cute little suitcase. This was something that the guests could do while they mingled and it was helpful to the mom!
