I have to say, my favorite part of being “Room Mom” has been planning the class parties. I’ve learned that the class party games are super important to the energy at the party. Thanks to Oriental Trading for sending me the little toys to use in this fun one I’m about to show you! As I was preparing the Valentine’s Day class party game we’ll do in a few weeks I added this fun Valentine’s Punch Board as the prize element to Valentine’s Day Bingo! I know the kids are going to love it! Instead of just handing them a prize when they get BINGO, they get to punch a cup for their prize! Fun idea right?!

The Valentine Punch Board was super easy to make. Since the BINGO cards were a free printable, spending a few dollars on prizes and punch board supplies was no biggie! Let me explain how it is done:

Valentine’s Day Punch Board Supplies

Supplies Needed

  • Assorted Toys and/or Treat
  • Foam Core Poster Board (I found mine at the dollar store)
  • Paper Cups
  • Tissue Paper (cut into squares large enough to cover the top half of the cups)
  • Rubber Bands
  • Hot Glue Gun

Tips for Making this Game

  • Buy a variety of small prizes – Whether you use candy or little trinkets, you want all the prizes to be small enough to comfortably fit in the cup. Be aware of this when shopping!
  • Make sure your rubber bands fit – You need your rubberbands to fit tightly enough around the cups to hold the tissue paper in place. So you don’t want bands that are too big or too small!
  • Use a Foam Board *not* a poster – A poster will be too flimsy. You need a foam core board, because it is sturdy enough to hold all of the cups and prizes!

How to Make this Valentine’s Day Punch Board

Step 1: Fill the Cups with Prizes + Cover With Tissue Paper

Place a prize inside each cup. Add a square of tissue paper to cover the top and use a rubber band to secure it.

Step 2: Arrange the Cups in a Heart Shape

Arrange all of the cups on the poster board into the shape of a heart.

Step 3: Hot Glue the Cups to Your Board

Taking one cup from the board at a time, add a bead of hot glue all around the bottom rim of the cup and place it back on the board. Continue until all of the cups have been glued to the board.

Step 4: Decorate the BoardValentine's Day Class Party Game - eventstocelebrate.net

Embellish the poster board with a cute saying or fun designs. I wrote, “Take another little piece off my heart now baby” from a song.

Step 5: Prep the Cups for Gameplay

Just before using this at the party, I’ll use the tip of a very sharp knife to poke a small slit in the top of each cup. That helps the kids punch through the tissue paper instead of just pulling it off.

So, if you’re helping with a Valentine’s Day class party game, look no further! Print off those free printable Valentine bingo cards and make this easy punch board for the prizes! The kids will LOVE it!
