This Big Hero 6 Birthday Party was a blast to put together for my nephew! What made it even better was to have it sponsored by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser! This post may contain affiliate links. I am paid a small commission if you purchase through these links.

Big Hero 6 really captured my heart. The movie is funny, sweet, emotional and exciting all packaged up! I loved planning this Big Hero 6 birthday party for my nephew.

 BIG HERO 6 PARTY ACTIVITIES

Knowing I was entertaining six tween boys, I tried to come up with activities they would enjoy. What tween boy doesn’t want to spray paint (responsibly)? And, ironing may not be for the younger kids, but it they were the perfect age to try it out!

DIY BAYMAX T-SHIRTS

Supplies you’ll need:

I followed this fabric applique tutorial I’ve posted about, and just left the last step of ironing on the applique onto the t-shirts for the boys. I got their sizes from their mom’s ahead of time and they turned out really cute!!

GO-GO’S FLYING MAG-LEV DISCS

Supplies you’ll need:

To mimic the magnetic levitation discs Go-Go uses in the movie we spray painted Frisbee’s yellow and once they had dried a little we added a red dot in the center with red craft paint. By the time the movie was over they were dry and the boys went outside and played Frisbee with them. Ironically, some of the boy’s last name is Frisby and they were joking the whole time that the Frisby’s were painting Frisbee’s.

HOT POTATO – BAYMAX STYLE

The plush Baymax was turned in to a Hot Potato for this game. We had the boys sit in a circle and picked a category – like Super Hero’s. They had to toss the Baymax to another player and that person would have to quickly shout a Super Hero and toss it. If they hesitated or repeated one, they were out!

BIG HERO 6 DECORATIONS

The decorations were REALLY fun to make, but if you’re not up for it, there are so many great Big Hero 6 party supplies out there. I especially love the big Baymax mylar balloons! My kids wanted one SO bad the last time we went to Disneyland!

Baymax Backdrop

I used a red and a white plastic table cover and some spray adhesive to create the big Baymax Backdrop. It was $2 and really made an impact on the party space. I just cut the Baymax head, body and arms out separately and then used my spray adhesive to adhere him to the red table cover.

Big Hero 6 Garlands

I made a garland for each of the supporting characters in the movie. I used my Silhouette cutting machine to cut out the yellow and red discs for Go-Go, Plasma Swords for Wasabi and Fire/Flames for Fred. I added glitter craft paint on all of them to add some dimension and sparkle. Then I painted 1 1/2″ styrofoam balls with craft paint to make Chem Balls for Honey Lemon. I used hot glue to adhere them to embroidery floss and hung them from the food table.

Baymax Balloons

This is about as easy as party decorations get. I just used a black marker to draw a Baymax face on the white balloons. I taped them to the archway leading into the party space and put them down the center of the table where the boys ate dinner.

 BIG HERO 6 FOOD

If you’ve been around my blog, you know how much I love themed party food! It’s probably my favorite thing about parties. I did a different food/treat for each character and created really cute food labels for each one. I’ve even got them as a FREE PRINTABLE for you down at the bottom.

Hiro’s Hero Sandwiches:

Hero Sandwiches from Jimmy Johns – the deliver, which is amazing!

Honey Lemon’s Coconut Chem Balls:

These were really delicious. Just melt 4 TBSP of butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Once it’s melted turn off the heat and add 1/4 c. milk and 1 tsp. of Vanilla extract. Stir it all up and add 2 cups of Confectioners Sugar in 1/2 cup increments stirring each time until smooth (this is where I added the food coloring). Then add in 3 cups of shredded sweetened coconut, mix it to combine and scoop them onto a parchment lined baking sheet and cool. I put mine in the refrigerator to help them set up.

Fred’s Flamin’ Hot Candy:

Hot Tamales, Red Hots & Atomic Fire Balls

Wasabi’s Chocolate Dreds:

Assorted Tootsie Rolls

Baymax Mallow Pops:

The giant marshmallows with some black frosting piped on them for Baymax’s face.

Go-Go Tomago’s Mag-Lev Disc Cookies:

I used a Lemon flavored cake mix and added 2 eggs and 6 TBSP melted butter. I stirred it all together, scooped onto a cookie sheet and baked at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Then I added 1/2 of a maraschino cherry for the red center.

Baymax popcorn:

I used my Silhouette cutting machine to cut out white popcorn boxes and the pieces to make a Baymax face on them – simple and so perfect for watching the movie!

Baymax Drinks:

I purchased white cups and used a black marker to add the face. They were deliciously filled with Black Cherry soda.
