Dr Seuss party - eventstocelebrate.net

The books by Dr. Seuss have always been a favorite. Whether you’re looking for ideas to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day (March 2nd) or are planning a Thing 1 & Thing 2 Birthday party – these cookies are the perfect fit!

The base is a red velvet cake mix cookie and then they are topped with aqua blue vanilla frosting and a tuft of blue cotton candy. They would also work great as cupcakes, but I find kids have a much easier time eating a cookie vs a cupcake.

Thing 1 & Thing 2 Cookies

Supplies Needed:
1 box Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cake mix
2 eggs
6 Tbsp melted butter
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 jar of Pillsbury Aqua Blue Frosting
1 pouf of Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy

Directions;

Add the melted butter, eggs and vanilla to the cake mix and mix well. Once combined roll into 1 1/2″ balls and place onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. Allow cookies to cool completely.

Frost each cookie and top with a tuft of cotton candy. Pull very gently on the cotton candy – trying not to pinch it to keep it as fluffy as possible.
