I get to help organize the Halloween class party for my daughters 1st grade class! Keeping with our monster theme for this year (see our costumes, trunk-or-treat and front door decoration) I am doing all Monster themed activities and Monster themed treats for her Halloween class party. These are age appropriate Halloween party ideas for kids that can be used for any grade level! In addition to fun Halloween party games, the Halloween treats for school are monster-ific! I know the kids are going to LOVE them! So, here’s my plan:
Halloween is coming up and this year I came up with a fangtastic Halloween mystery dinner menu. Each year I make jack-o-lantern quesadillas for lunch but as my kids get older I want to make sure they have a healthy Halloween dinner before heading out to trick-or-treat. This mystery dinner menu will definitely make dinner fun and fill them up with good food! There are lots of fun Halloween dinner ideas out there, but so many take SO much time. I like that this way, I can cook food I know they’ll eat, and still theme it in a really fun way! If you’re hosting a Murder Mystery Dinner, this would be the PERFECT activity to get things started! And don’t forget to set the table with fun Halloween dinnerware!

I love coming up with our family Halloween costumes each year and this year was no different! If you’ve seen our Monster Halloween door decoration and our Monster Trunk or Treat idea, you probably guessed that our family halloween costume would be Monster themed as well! I wanted easy halloween costumes so I purchased pieces and did a little DIY on some. So, if you’re on the hunt for some funny halloween costumes or some cheap halloween costumes, look no further! Let me show you how easy it was to make!

Because I’m going to be wrangling kids all day I wanted one that I could wear easily. This was the perfect compromise to being dressed up but still functional. I started with a plain teal t-shirt.

Each year we attend a Trunk or Treat in my in-laws neighborhood. It is amazing to see the trunk or treat decorating ideas people come up with! My favorite part about a Trunk or Treat is that it brings everyone outside and it feels like a PARTY! I wanted to create an easy trunk or treat idea to share and came up with my Trunk or Treat Monster! Isn’t it cute?! It took about an hour to assemble the decorations and about 30 minutes to put it all up. Not bad for a totally awesome trunk! My neighbors thought I was a little odd staging this in my yard in September, but that’s what bloggers do. And, now it is all ready to put up on Halloween!
**Now, a word on adhesive. Use painters tape or masking tape if you are adhering something to the paint of your car.
***My Trunk Or Treat round up has over a dozen Halloween trunk decorating ideas and I’ll add this over there to. Be sure to check it out!

It’s no secret that Halloween is my favorite holiday! I love coming up with new Halloween decorations to display each year. Doing our Halloween door decoration just might be one of my favorite things of the whole season! The Skeleton door was fun, the Frankenstein door was cute, the spider web door was creepy crawly and the witch door was fun to theme my entire porch! This year our family theme for Halloween is MONSTERS! But, not the scary kind, the fun and silly kind! So, our halloween costumes will be monsters, our trunk or treat will be monsters and naturally, our front door will be a cute furry monster! Now, I need help naming him – got any suggestions?

It is peach season here in Utah and I personally feel like we have the best peaches around! I love to peel them and eat them fresh, but look forward to making homemade peach ice cream and peach crisp each year with them! I promise, it is not hard to learn how to make homemade ice cream, especially if you have a Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt and Ice Cream maker. When got my cuisinart ice cream machine a few years ago I didn’t realize how much I would use it! Because it is so easy to use, we have so much fun customizing the flavors to what we love! This homemade peach ice cream is a cross between peaches and cream and my favorite peach crisp recipe because of the addition of one special spice. You’ll want to add this to your favorite homemade ice cream recipes for sure!
